Today’s Scripture is so rich- deep enough, in fact, to change your perspective on life and how to live it! Let’s begin with the word abide.
Definition of Abide: to act in accordance with.
With that definition in mind, let’s re-read today’s Scripture. The one who acts in accordance with love, acts in accordance with God.
God is love. Thus, wherever God is, so is love. And as believers, we know God dwells in our hearts. And from our hearts, such love should overflow. This is the guiding principle of Christian life- to act in love toward our fellow humans just as God acts in love toward us.
What a beautiful relationship God offers us. A truly much sweeter promise than the world’s cry, love is love. No, my friends, love is so much more. God is love. Let’s act in accordance with this love.
